Dani's World

Dani was rummaging through my purse today (a fairly common occurrence) and found my sunglasses, decided to try them on (also a very common occurrence) and looked absolutely adorable in them (another very common occurrence). So, of course, I had to get the camera out and get a picture of her...

Cute huh? Anyway, while we had the camera out I decided to teach her how to take pictures. So,I  pointed the camera towards Sam, held the camera in place, and showed Dani which button to push. She was so excited when it worked. Here's the result...

So then I decided to let her hold the camera and take a picture by herself and here's what we got...

A bit blurry and not completely centered but really quite good for her first picture ever. Then, of course, she decides to take pictures of everything around her. Here are the results... 

My favorite thing about these pictures is getting a perspective of the world through Dani's eyes. I'm short and all but not quite as short as she is and it's interesting to see things from where she does...
Dani can't see the top of the Christmas tree if she doesn't look up.

The pot on the stove is at eye level.


I'm tall and Sam's a giant. (We were incredibly surprised at how centered this picture is and the fact that she didn't chop off Sam's head... the kid's a natural photographer). 
Pretty close to the perspective you get when you are sitting down in the couches across the room... the difference is, she's standing. 
She's clearly fond of the little snowmen on the mantel (yeah, they are snowmen).

The other fun thing about these pictures, it's amazing how many bad pictures of us I'm not only unwilling to delete, but will post online just because they were the first pictures Dani's ever taken... :)
